Fabio Capello joins Carlo Ancelotti’s defence as Real Madrid boss comes under constant criticism

Italian legend Fabio Capello has hailed Carlo Ancelotti as the most important coach in the world and called criticism of the 65-year-old manager unfair.

‘Ancelotti is the most important เล่นบาคาร่า UFABET เว็บตรง ค่าคอมสูง coach in the world,’ Capello said. ‘He is the coach who has won the most titles and is ahead of everyone else. The World Cup could be his last major tournament and he could win it with Brazil.’

Capello also called criticism of Ancelotti unfair, saying: ‘I know Real Madrid and how the Spanish media works. When they decide they don’t like you, they stick to it. It doesn’t matter how many trophies you have won, nothing is enough.’

He also pointed to the current Real Madrid side’s lack of balance as the main reason they have struggled this season.

‘They suffer in defence, Carvajal’s injury is a big one and the right wing has been a problem all year. When Kroos left, there was no one in midfield who could bring calm to the team and control the situation. These are real problems.’

Capello also spoke about the pressure Kylian Mbappe has faced since joining Real Madrid, saying: ‘The first half of the season was a difficult time for him. He needs time to understand where he belongs. The Madrid shirt is heavy, there is a lot of responsibility.’

‘For about two months we didn’t see the Mbappe that many people expected, but then he started scoring goals.’

However, Capello still believes Real Madrid still have problems in attack due to the lack of a genuine number nine. ‘There is no true centre-forward. Both Mbappe and Vinicius prefer to play on the wings, but neither of them can play on the wings. It causes tactical problems.’

Asked about Saturday’s Copa del Rey final, Capello said: ‘It will be a tough game but Real Madrid need to win. They are second in La Liga and out of the Champions League.’

‘This final is very important. It’s their chance to save the season. They have to give everything to win this trophy.’
