Matheus Cunha, the key striker of Wolverhampton Wanderers has officially extended his football contract with the club until 2029.

Cunha’s new deal ends transfer speculation with Arsenal, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest all linked. With a move away in the January transfer window.

Sky Sports, a British media outlet, reported that the new contract has a release clause of £60 million. Which will come into effect from this summer’s transfer window onwards.

Cunha has been with Wolves since January 2023, initially on loan. But has scored just two goals in 20 appearances. But has met the conditions agreed to make the deal permanent in the summer, with a fee believed to be in the region of £44m.

In the 2023-24 season, Kunya has been in excellent form, scoring 14 goals in 36 games in all competitions. And this season he has scored 11 goals in 24 games in all competitions, catching the eye of big clubs.

Wolves’ sporting director Matt Hobbs added: “The new contract is a reward for what Matheus has done, and symbolises his importance to us on the pitch.
